Vidyut Jammwal is an Indian actor, martial artist and model. He was born on 10 December 1980 in Jammu and is best known for Hindi action films, particularly the Commando series.
He practised the martial art kalarippayattu from childhood and later incorporated it into his film work. He made his acting debut in the Telugu film Sakthi, but gained wider popularity through his role in Force and subsequently the lead role in Commando: A One Man Army.
He has received a Filmfare Award for his acting. Alongside his film career, he promotes martial arts and is known as an advocate of vegetarianism.
