PETA – List of Brands Not Tested on Animals

About the certification

PETA (People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals) runs PETA’s Ultimate Cruelty-Free List, a database of companies and brands that have committed not to use animal testing. The programme helps consumers find products made without animal testing.

Companies included on the list must confirm that neither they nor their suppliers conduct, commission, pay for or allow animal testing of ingredients, formulations or finished products anywhere in the world. They must also commit not to conduct such testing in the future.

PETA distinguishes between two designations:

Animal Test–Free

The Animal Test–Free designation confirms that the company and its suppliers do not use animal testing for ingredients, formulations or finished products and have committed to maintaining this policy.

Animal Test–Free and Vegan

The Animal Test–Free and Vegan designation applies to companies that, in addition to prohibiting animal testing, offer an entirely animal-ingredient-free product range.

Approved companies may use PETA's official Animal Test–Free or Animal Test–Free and Vegan logos. The programme primarily covers cosmetics, personal-care products, household cleaning products and other common consumer goods.
