Stella McCartney is an English fashion designer known for her eponymous label and her commitment to manufacturing without fur or leather. She is the daughter of musician Paul McCartney and photographer and activist Linda McCartney.
She was born in Camberwell, London, on 13 September 1971. As a child, she travelled with her parents and their band Wings, and later gained experience with prominent designers and fashion houses.
In 1997, she became creative director of Chloé, and in 2001 she founded her own fashion house. She has also collaborated with Adidas since 2004.
She is a lifelong vegetarian and an active supporter of animal rights. She uses neither leather nor fur in her collections and creates some designs using vegan production methods.
