Robin Pecknold is an American singer, guitarist and songwriter. He is known as the frontman of the indie folk band Fleet Foxes, whose multipart vocal arrangements and acoustic sound received considerable acclaim in the late 2000s.
He was born on 31 March 1986 in Seattle. He founded Fleet Foxes with Skyler Skjelset in 2006, and the band achieved success with its self-titled 2008 debut album. The record included “White Winter Hymnal” and “Blue Ridge Mountains”.
The albums Helplessness Blues, Crack-Up and Shore followed. Pecknold is Fleet Foxes' principal songwriter and draws on American folk, baroque pop and choral singing. Alongside the band, he occasionally releases solo recordings and collaborates with other musicians.
