Anushka Sharma is an Indian actress and producer who works in Hindi cinema. She was one of the most prominent Bollywood actresses of the 2010s and has received a Filmfare Award and several IIFA Awards, among other honours.
She was born in Ayodhya and grew up in Bengaluru. She began her career as a model and made her film debut opposite Shah Rukh Khan in Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi. Successful roles followed in Band Baaja Baaraat, Jab Tak Hai Jaan, PK, Sultan and Ae Dil Hai Mushkil.
She co-founded the production company Clean Slate Filmz, which released the thriller NH10 and other film and television projects. She has appeared on the Forbes India Celebrity 100 and Forbes Asia 30 Under 30 lists.
She began following a vegetarian diet in 2015. PETA has repeatedly named her Person of the Year and recognised her public stance on animals.
