Bhikkhu Bodhi, born Jeffrey Block, is an American Theravada Buddhist monk, writer and commentator.
He received monastic ordination in Sri Lanka. He later taught in the New York and New Jersey area.
He became the second president of the Buddhist Publication Society and also leads the Buddhist Association of America. He founded the organisation Buddhist Global Relief.
His public work combines Buddhist teaching, publishing and humanitarian assistance.
