Attila Csihar is a Hungarian extreme metal vocalist best known for his work with the Norwegian black metal band Mayhem and the American drone metal band Sunn O))). His vocal style has been described as operatic and has contributed significantly to the distinctive sound of these projects.
He first joined Mayhem to record the landmark album De Mysteriis Dom Sathanas, released in 1994. He later returned to the band and became a permanent member. Alongside Mayhem, he has played in numerous other bands and projects spanning black metal, industrial music and experimentation.
Although Mayhem's performances often employ provocative imagery involving blood and dead animals, Csihar follows a vegan diet in his personal life. His personal position therefore contrasts with the band's stage aesthetic.
