My Summer As A Salvation Soldier is the stage name of Icelandic singer-songwriter Þórir Georg Jónsson. He also performs simply as Þórir and, alongside his solo work, plays in several hardcore bands.
He released his first album, I Belive in This, under the name Þórir in 2004; he recorded it in just over two days. It was followed by Anarchists Are Hopeless Romantics in 2005 and his third album, Activism, in 2008.
He plays guitar in Fighting Shit, Hrydjuverk and Gavin Portland and is the lead singer of the punk band Deathmetal Supersquad. He has also released several EPs of his own.
Jónsson follows a straight edge lifestyle and is a vegetarian.
