Mike Ness is an American singer, guitarist and songwriter. He is a founding member of Social Distortion, in which he serves as lead singer, guitarist and principal songwriter.
He was born on 3 April 1962. He founded Social Distortion in 1978, and the band became a prominent part of the American punk rock scene.
Alongside his work with the band, he released two solo albums in 1999, Cheating at Solitaire and Under the Influences. His music combines a punk foundation with influences from rockabilly, country and traditional rock.
