Patricia Sosa is an Argentine rock and pop singer, songwriter and actress. She achieved nationwide recognition in the 1980s as the lead singer of the hard-rock band La Torre and has pursued a successful solo career since 1990.
She was born in Buenos Aires in 1956. While studying architecture, she formed the band Nomady Soul in 1975, which performed pop and soul in both English and Spanish. The band faced censorship under Argentina's military dictatorship but nevertheless released several singles.
After embarking on a solo career, she earned gold and platinum records and nominations for albums including Luz de mi vida. Alongside music, she acted in the Argentine television series R.R.D.T. and Chiquititas. In 2014, she appeared as a soloist in a performance of Misa Criolla at St Peter's Basilica in the presence of Pope Francis.
Patricia Sosa follows a vegetarian diet. Her personal page states this without giving a more precise date for the change or describing her motivation.
